This is my secondary school. I created these photographs many years after leaving school.

School years span a considerable period during an important, formative part of our lives. We live with many memories of school - both dark and light. For this series of images I returned not only to my own school, but also to specific places that are suffused with my own strong memories.

I was particularly intrigued by the science block, for during my childhood, science was lauded as something that would improve our lives in some future time. I was interested to find that very little had changed.
